The 2011 Pharmacy Times OTC Recommendations Survey asked thousands of pharmacists to declare their preferred recommendations on over-the-counter (OTC) brands in 162 therapeutic categories. Pharmacists across the country make more than 80 million recommendations to their patients every month, and more often than not, patients will follow these recommendations. Pharmacists are the most accessible—and among the most trusted—health care providers, and they play a key role in patients’ health with their recommendations.

On OTCGuide.net, these recommendations are organized into 14 color-coded OTC group categories. Within the group categories, each therapeutic category has a corresponding chart that displays the percentage of pharmacists’ recommendations that each product or brand received. The chart also shows the total number of recommendations pharmacists make in that therapeutic category per month.

The Pharmacy Times OTC Master's Circle is an elite club made up of those products from the 2011 OTC Recommendations Survey that earned at least 50% of pharmacists' recommendations.
